BATON ROUGE, LA — The Holiday Helpers hosted a Thanksgiving feast for the Capitol City's needy. Volunteers, young and old, gave up their mornings to serve all the traditional turkey day foods.
They say there's nothing better than giving back.
"I'm very proud and happy to be here and you see a lot of people that really reaches out to you and you know it really means a lot to them," Sonya Cockran, a volunteer, said.
"I'm just very happy to be part of it and I'm just having a nice time," Shelia Johnson, another volunteer, added.
This is holiday helpers' 25th Annual Thanksgiving Together event.
