‘Tis the season for the Raising Cane’s Chicken Finger holiday plush puppy. For the 3rd year in a row, the company will offer its signature plush, “Cane,” in its restaurants and donate net proceeds from sales of the plush toy to local pet welfare agencies.

“With more than 115 restaurants in 16 states, Raising Cane’s is a strong supporter of pet welfare groups in the communities we serve,” said Todd Graves, founder and CEO of the restaurant company. “We are thrilled that our customers can share in our passion for pet welfare and support these important, local organizations during a time of giving.”

Launched in 2003 and modeled after the restaurant’s namesake, yellow Labrador Raising Cane I, the plush puppy has become a holiday tradition for many Raising Cane’s fans – otherwise known as “Caniacs.” The 2011 limited edition “Cane” puppy is available now at Raising Cane’s.

“We are thankful for our restaurant guests who purchased more than 5000 plush puppies in 2010, raising more than $25,000 for pet welfare groups in local communities,” said Graves.

As part of their Active Community Involvement program, Raising Cane’s also supports thousands of schools, non-profits and organizations focusing on issues such as education, feeding the hungry and pet business development. The company’s current mascot, Raising Cane II, is a certified pet therapy dog and often visits children’s’ hospitals and other community events.
