The Varsity Theatre just announced that the New Orleans-based band MuteMath is scheduled to rock the venue on October 23 with what is sure to be one charismatic event.

MuteMath is known for putting on a show unlike any other. Drummer Darren King hops around the stage and is sometimes spotted swinging from the rafters like a little monkey. Lead vocalist Paul Meany is no less charismatic. In fact, he’s been known to do handstands on his keyboard, jump into the crowd, and is just all around energetic.

MuteMath performed its first ever show in Baton Rouge roughly one year ago at Chelsea’s Café. The sold-out show was considered a highlight of the year by music enthusiasts.

Opening the show at the Varsity Theatre will be a band of equal intensity, Civil Twilight.

Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday, July 20 and can be purchased at the Chime’s Restaurant located on Highland Road.
