The annual Hot Art, Cool Night is upon us!

Tomorrow, Friday, May 11, the streets of Mid City Baton Rouge will be lined with supporters of all things creative in the Capital City.

Hot Art, Cool Nights is sponsored by the Mid City Merchants Association and is part of a bi-annual tradition that’s become a fan favorite in the city. The idea is simple: every merchant in the Mid City area puts artwork up on display and people have a big party! What could be more fun?!

Over the years the event has grown in size and scope. Mid City Baton Rouge has even gained the honor of being the official arts district for the city. That means that all original art work sold in the area is tax free. It’s one way the numerous galleries in the area have increased attention to the once struggling part of town.

Along with all of the wonderful artwork on display, participating merchants bring out local musicians and provide food and snacks as well. Many of the restaurants in the area assist with that end of the deal.

No matter your taste, there’s a little something for everyone at the Hot Art, Cool Night event. Click here to learn more about the participating merchants.
