The $0.99 Beach Finder app for the iPhone and Android has a searchable data base of 5300 beaches.

Searches can be done for beaches nearby or the app can be used to plan out places to visit.

The app provides directions, reviews, and even pictures.

While enjoying the sun, vacationers can download the free UV Detector app on the iPhone to know what type of sun protection is needed.

UV Detector app offers weekly UV forecast and will send out custom alerts for how much sun screen to put on.

The $0.99 Park and Find app can help vacationers find the place they parked at an amusement park, airports or any large parking lot.

The app let the driver tag his or her location and with the iPhone's GPS function it shows a map that automatically zooms and pans as the driver move closer to the vehicle's location.

A fun app to play on the way to any destination is the License Plate Game.

This iPhone app is $1.99.

It keeps track of the plates found.

With the License Plate Game app, vacationers can also log visits and look up information on states too.
