WALKER, LA (NBC33) — Today big plans are underway in Walker for a big holiday celebration.
City officials have been working to get Sidney Hutchinson Park ready for the Third Annual CityFest Fourth of July celebration.
Last year’s crowds brought out 5-thousand people to the park to commemorate the day. It starts at two, and there will be plenty of games for the kids, including water slides and inflatables. The big draw will be a tethered-hot air balloon ride for the kids, and it is absolutely free to ride.
"They've got it tied off,” Mayor Bobby Font, City of Walker, said. “Takes the kids up and down - fill it up again. Three balloons, all afternoon."
Of course there will be what's called the largest fireworks display in Livingston Parish at night.
CityFest is free of charge for everyone.
