International shoppers in Baton Rouge will be able to get a refund of their sales taxes. It's part of a new program called the Tax Free Shopping for International Visitors Program, and it was unveiled today at the Mall of Louisiana.

The goal is to have international shoppers spend more money, and experience a bigger variety of stores when they're visiting the United States.

The Baton Rouge center is at Macy's at the Mall of Louisiana on Bluebonnet.

“We're just seeing a real growth in the Louisiana State as far as international customers,” Stuart Bailey, Macy’s Store Manager, said at the ceremony. “There's a lot in New Orleans, we're only an hour away, and they obviously like to come up here and see our capitol city, so we should be giving them a refund.”

Centers are also open in Shreveport, Lafayette and New Orleans.
