NBC NATIONAL NEWS — A Portuguese designer is taking high fashion to a sweet, new level. He’s shaping sugar into something you can actually wear.
Philip Blanquet was initially trained as a pastry chef and he uses that training to turn shaped sugar paste into couture.
He has used sugar to develop collections inspired by fairy tales and cinema divas.
His designs even include edible lingerie.
One of his favorite designs: a recreation of the dress Marilyn Monroe wore when she sang Happy Birthday to President Kennedy.
