PORT ALLEN, LA (NBC33) — This weekend the first Family and Friends Heritage Blues Festival will be held in West Baton Rouge Parish. The event will begin at noon on Saturday, March 3 and continue until 10 p.m.
Kenny Neal is hosting the event, which will include performances by Chris Thomas King, Troy Turner, original Slim Harpo Band members, and Sundanze.
Along with fun in the sun and great tunes, the festival hopes to do some good, too. They ask that everyone bring a canned good item to donate to the local food bank.
Tickets for the event are $15 and are good for the entire day. The festival is being held at the West Baton Rouge Parish Multi-Purpose Arena, 152 Turner Road, in Port Allen.
