Chick-fil-A opens at new location with a bang
BATON ROUGE, LA. (NCB33) — Baton Rouge is welcoming it's newest Chick-fil-A. The new location is on College Drive. They will be giving away more than $25,000 in free food and the new location will bring 80 new jobs to the area.
You may not think of a retail grand opening as something newsworthy, but people usually arrive more than 24 hours in advance of an opening carrying tents, lawn chairs, computers and all kinds of other gear to make their wait for a free year of Chick-fil-A meals more comfortable and entertaining. Wednesday, Nov. 16 will take on a tailgate type atmosphere complete with dancing, food, games, and prizes for those camping out. This is always an exciting event full of great stories and photo opportunities.
Brad Arton, the operator of this new location who is transferring from the Mall of Louisiana, will celebrate this grand opening by awarding a one-year supply of free Chick-fil-A® Meals (52 certificates) to each of the first 100 adults in line, age 18 and older with identification, at the new Baton Rouge restaurant. The line officially opens at 6 a.m., Wed., Nov. 16, with the free meal cards being awarded Thurs., Nov. 17, sometime between 6 a.m. and 6:10 a.m. The restaurant will open for business immediately thereafter. If there are more than 100 people by 6 a.m. on Wednesday, all 100 spots will be determined by a raffle.
Since the event began in 2003, Chick-fil-A has given away more than $13 million in free food at its restaurant grand openings, with nearly $2.3 million slated to be awarded to First 100 participants in 2011.
