Monday, November 7, 2011 - 7:26pm

A portion of Government Street (LA 73) in the Mid City area will be subject to brief, intermittent closures on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 8, to film scenes for the TV drama "Breakout Kings.”

Between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday, police will be closing Government Street to traffic for short periods in the vicinity of the Brew-Bacher’s Grill at 5580 Government Street while the filming takes place. The closures are expected to last from two to three minutes each.

The TV show, which is produced by Fox and airs on A&E, is scheduled to continue filming in the Baton Rouge area through early 2012.

As part of the filming, Baton Rouge residents can expect a number of stunts, special effects, and chase sequences in the months to come.

During their stay here in the Capital City, “Breakout Kings” will be based at Celtic Media Centre, where they will be using soundstages and offices.

The initial season of “Breakout Kings” was filmed in Toronto, but moved to Baton Rouge for its second season, making it the first episodic television series to relocate to the Baton Rouge market.
