THIBODAUX, LA (NBC33) — An “Actor’s Bootcamp” will take place this month at Nicholls State University. Those participating will gain insight about the industry from Samantha Martin, a local talent agent with years of experience.
Martin represents talent from New York to New Orleans and all the way on the West Coast in California.
The course is an introduction for those looking to learn about how to get involved in the industry. No prior experience is required.
Martin will discuss topics such as headshot and resume development, finding and securing representation, self promotion and branding, as well as industry standards in contracts and negotiations to protect you from scams.
Along with preparing actors for the business side of the industry, Martin will include an in depth discussion on preparing for the audition process.
Following the lecture there will be a Q&A session, then actors will be given the chance to perform a 2-3 minute monologue or scene and receive feedback from Martin.
For more information about how to participate in the seminar call the South Louisiana Economic Council at (985) 448-4485.
