BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A cup of coffee and some good old fashion talking is how one group hopes to push Louisiana’s entertainment industry forward.
Marcus Lyle Brown is this month’s speaker for the Creative Louisiana Series. That group was founded less than a year ago in connection with LSU’s continuing education program.
The goal is to provide one-on-one discussions for entertainment professionals to share success stories and advice.
Tomorrow, Brown will speak about his work as an actor, musician, and founder of Believe Entertainment. Brown is a veteran and has worked on such projects as Treme and Monster’s Ball.
"Tomorrow I’ll look at it from an artist perspective and talk about the artistic process and how we as artists define ourselves and how we also promote ourselves within the industry, within the community, but also within the industry at large," Brown previewed when discussing his talk tomorrow.
The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. for coffee and mingling, followed by the lecture at 9:00 a.m. A group discussion will follow after the talk. That’s expected to conclude by 10:00 a.m.
The event is free and open to the public. It will be held at the Baton Rouge Little Theatre, located at 7155 Florida Blvd.
