In honor of our veterans, a Louisiana filmmaker is donating his military themed movies to the War Veterans’ homes in Louisiana.

Rodney Ray of R Squared Productions provided copies of his movie "Flag of my Father" to the veterans’ home in Jackson, La. The movie, filmed entirely in Ouachita Parish, won the best narrative feature award at the G-I Film Festival in Washington D.C. this year.

Ray says his purpose is to make movies with a message, "this brings them, we think, some healing and closure. We just want to say they're heroes and we're proud of them. "

Ray has also made to two documentaries called "We Call Them Heroes” and “Rooted Sorrows".

Join NBC33 News next Friday on Veterans Day as our own Tammi Arender has clips from “Flag of my Father” and gets reaction from some of our local veterans.
