BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) - — Monday, May 23rd, through Friday, May 27th, Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) will be collecting gently used children's books for their summer reading program.

VIPS is set up at several Sonic locations in Baton Rouge and hopes to collect 1,000 books for children in need.

VIPS summer reading program provides books to children who do not have books at home. The program helps kids keep on track with their reading skills and not regress over the summer break.
