North Korea continues preparations for missle test
NBC News — New satellite images of a North Korean rocket launch site appear to show that the country has stepped up preparations for its planned long-range missile test. The images were taken last wednesday by Digitalglobe, a commercial satellite photography company. They are believed to show a mobile radar trailer at the end of a new dirt road.
Radar tracking during a launch gives engineers crucial real-time information on the performance of the rocket's engines, guidance system and other details. North Korea says the launch, set for sometime between April 12th and 16th, will fire a satellite into orbit to study the country's crops and natural resources. The west says the launch is a test for nuclear weapons.
