Proposed Cuts to higher education have Louisiana teachers worried.

More than $80 million has to go according to Louisiana's Commissioner of Higher Education.

It's to help the state deal with a near $900 million budget shortfall for the next fiscal year.

Some teachers say higher education can't part with that much money without it affecting the quality of education in the classroom.

"It affects the students because I had a class of 18 kids, then 26 kids. How effectively can I teach 30 kids as opposed to 15?," says teacher Rachel Touchstone

To help offset cuts to higher education, officials are proposing another round of tuition hikes. We're told that'll bring in an extra $23 million.
