China's government denied Thursday that it had anything to do with a hacking attack on Google's g-mail service. Google is blaming computer hackers in China for the attack that broke into the personal g-mail accounts of several hundred people, including senior U.S. government officials, military personnel and political activists.

The breach is the second time in 17 months that Google has publicly identified China as the source of a hacking attack on their network. A spokesman for China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said thursday that the Chinese government was opposed to any kind of computer hacking activity and would, quote, "punish these crimes according to the law."
