Drug testing policy moving forward in Central
CENTRAL, La (WVLA)--The drug testing policy will move forward in Central schools.
Tonight the school board voted to re-work the hair sample test policy to make it clearer for parents.
Once a committee rewrites it, the policy will be up for debate and a vote at another board meeting.
Unlike the urine testing, the hair policy can test for prior drug use up to 90 days.
Urine testing is in place while the hair sampling is on hold.
The superintendent is also pushing for drug testing on all students, not just ones in extra curricular activities.
The board says it hopes to vote on the new policy by next month.
