Largest juried art show calls for entries until June 1

Jesse Howard and Christy Marino with Forum 35 came on BR Lagniappe to talk about Forum 35 and the 2012 Art Melt.
Howard said that Forum 35 is an organization that seeks to prepare the next generation of young leaders. They do this through leadership development gained through diversity projects and events such as Art Melt.
Marino stated that Art Melt is the largest juried art show in the state of Louisiana .
This year's event is slated to be held July 14th at the Shaw Center for the Performing Arts from 5 to 11 p.m. Marino said that a call for entries in still on until June 1st; the fee for this entry is $35.00 which allows up to three pieces. Malone said that there will be a local, national and regional juror at the show. 1st place prize will be $2,000, 2nd place prize will be $1,000 and 3rd place award will be $500. There will also be a Country Roads Award and an Anne Connelly Award.
