Levees could open to public next week
BATON ROUGE, La. (NBC33) — Levees in Baton Rouge are still off limits, but the Department of Public Works says they hope to end the restriction next week. Crews will begin removing protective boom and sandbags from the levee early next week and as soon as it is clear, people will be allowed back on the levee.
DPW says the had to wait until the river dropped below a certain flow rate and height before the barriers could be removed.
