BATON ROUGE, La (NBC 33)-Neighbors in the Mid city area of Baton Rouge are still trying to figure out what happened during the robbery of Chase Bank on the three-thousand block of Government Street Monday morning. They are also trying to figure out why it happened, so close to home.
They say armed robberies like this don’t happen in their section of Mid City. It definitely has some who live nearby shaken, “[I’m] not going to be opening up the door for anyone I don’t know. Probably not going to go to a lot of places by myself at night.” says Hannah Gaurisco.
Gaurisco is not alone. Joel Lucas has lived in the neighborhood for more than three years. He says he is going to be extremely cautious until the man responsible for the bank robbery is apprehended, “We have an alarm system. I’m probably going to double check with my alarm company to make sure all that’s working properly, probably be more diligent in locking the doors.”
Anyone with information on the bank robbery is asked to call Crimestoppers at (225) 344-STOP.
