BAKER, LA (WVLA) -On September 22, Baker City Court Judge Kirk Williams and City Attorney Ron Wall got into a tug of war inside Baker City Hall.  The scuffle was over a video camera the judge brought in to record his attempt to view documents included in a public records request he had previously submitted.  Following the altercation, Judge Williams filed a complaint with the Baker Police Department.  Since then, Police Chief Mike Knaps has handed the  case over to the State Police.  But some people in the city have been concerned that the case is being pushed aside.  The Chief wants to make it clear that's not the case.  Knaps says the men are two of his oldest, and he didn't want to taint the investigation because of their personal relationships.  He says the State Police are investigating the case, and he hopes the issue will be resolved soon.

The old Chief, that's you Sid, should take some lessons about handling Internal Affairs within your own department. Oh that's right, you don't personally know your Captains!!!!And how many law suits are there presently against deputy's and the Sheriff, nobody reports those statistics! You have to control the criminal behavior of your own deputies before you can control it within the city. It begins at home, Sid!!!
