North Bend, WA (KCPQ) — After a rescue effort lasting several hours, teams safely recovered a woman and her dog about 2 a.m. Monday near mount Si after they were trapped on a cliff.
King County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Cindi West said rescue teams were helping a woman stuck on a high cliff Sunday evening near North Bend. The woman became stuck with her dog sometime Sunday, but had the good sense to stay put, West said.
King County Deputy Ed Christian said he called the woman on her cell phone while rescuers were laboring for several hours to free her. "I told her 'Don't you dare move'," Christian said. "Some people move, and that's when we get tragic accidents."
The woman reportedly lived in the area near where she and her dog became stranded Sunday night.
