BOWIE COUNTY, TX (KETK) — A New Boston, TX woman has been arrested in connection with the six horses found earlier this month starving in Bowie County, TX.
33 year-old Terri Danielle Johnson (aka Terri Danielle Pool) was arrested Wednesday, September 26th.
This comes exactly three weeks after Bowie County officials were informed about six horses in very poor condition on Hwy. 82, about 3 miles east of DeKalb.
The horses were found in extremely emaciated condition. Some were unable to move.
The animals were seized, and one was humanely euthanized. Another died later. The remaining horses were taken to a secure location to be fed and receive care.
Terri Danielle Johnson was named as the person responsible for the animals' care.
Johnson is charged with Cruelty to Livestock Animals, which is a class A misdemeanor.
Bail is set at $25,000.00.
The horses were awarded to the Bowie County Sheriff's Office, and will be adopted out to good homes.
