Seattle, WA (KCPQ) — Two Pacific Northwest icons got together Thursday – Seattle Pike Place Market's fish-throwers and some grateful grizzly bears – to promote an upcoming zoo event.
The "Salmon Toss" was held to bring attention to the Seattle Woodland Park Zoo's "Bear Affair & Big Howl for Wolves: Pacific Northwest Wildlife Conservation" event on Saturday. It includes activities focused on bears, wolves and other Pacific Northwest wildlife and and how humans can co-exist.
As part of the salmon toss, the fish-throwers from Pike Place Market were allowed into the zoo's grizzly bear yard to throw fish to the 800-pound bears in the zoo.
