Pellet filled pooch needs a home
NBC NATIONAL NEWS — A 1-year-old pit bull that was shot 38 times with a pellet gun is looking for a new home.
Berkeley, California's Animal Care Services has been taking care of the dog, named Daphne, since someone left her in a Berkeley parking lot last month.
After an X-ray, they found 38 pellets inside Daphne.
Her ears were also partially cut off.
Berkeley East Bay Humane Society was able to remove nine of the pellets, but had to leave the rest inside her.
Back in March, two other dogs were left in the same parking lot where Daphne was found.
Investigators believe they were Daphne's sisters because their ears were also cut and one of them had pellets below the eye.
