New beds for pound pups at Parish shelter
BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Good news for the Companion Animal Alliance - they've got brand new pet beds for the dogs and cats staying there.
The animal shelter bought 125 beds to keep animals from having to sleep on cold concrete floors. That’s after receiving $5,500 in donations in just two months.
The shelter director says those beds make a big difference.
“The comfort because of course being in a stressful and chaotic environment and this is an old and antiquated building so every bit of comfort that we can provide our animals makes it just a little more comfortable and less stressful," Debbie Pearson, Interim CAA Director, explained.
Companion Animal Alliance took over the East Baton Rouge Animal Shelter in August. Right now the shelter saves about 68 percent of the animals there from being euthanized.
