Emily Turner
Emily Turner Former All-American LSU softball pitcher Emily Turner is the first female sports reporter on-air at a major local affiliate in Baton Rouge history. Turner joins the NBC 33 team after four outstanding seasons as a pitcher for LSU, during which time she amassed an 84-37 career record, 778 strikeouts and an 1.48 earned run average. She was named to the All-SEC team twice (2005, 2006) and was named a third team All-American in 2006. She was the 4th round selection of the Philadelphia Force in the National Pro Fastpitch league in 2007. Turner graduated from LSU in May 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies.
