Stone Grissom

Stone Grissom is the co-anchor for NBC 33 News at 5, 6 & 10pm. He joins NBC 33 from KMIZ-TV in Columbia, MO and KCPQ-TV in Seattle, WA.
Stone's law background has allowed him to work as a legal analyst for several stations and networks across the country including Court TV.
He covered stories involving the international implications of the treatment of captured soldier in Iraq to the capture of Saddam Hussein. He was also called upon to cover the charges against Kobe Bryant, Scott Peterson, Michael Jackson and Gary Ridgeway (the Green River Killer).
Stone’s specialization is Civil Rights Litigation with an emphasis on catastrophic injury and complex litigation and Criminal Defense.
He was named “Rising Star” three years in a row by Washington’s legal publication, Law & Politics. He successfully litigated numerous complex felony cases to verdict including murder and death penalty cases.
He is a member of the Washington State Bar, American Trial Lawyers’ Association, the American Bar Association, National Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals among many other professional associations.
Stone received his Doctorate in Jurisprudence from the University of Notre Dame. He received his undergraduate degrees from the University of Washington in Communications and German Studies. Stone also received the Dean’s Certificate of Excellence from the University of Vancouver Film School for Film, TV Directing and Editing
In his spare time, the Knoxville, TN native enjoys spending time with his wife Maureen and their daughter Sienna. He also enjoys running, hiking, films, and learning about the rich history of our area.
