Award-winning journalist David D'Aquin has been honored for his work by the Associated Press, the Society of Professional Journalists, the William Randolph Hearst Foundation and other organizations.

News runs through this Lafayette native's blood. He grew up watching his grandfather, Richard D'Aquin's, incredible newspaper publishing career, and he's thrilled to be able to follow in his grandfather's footsteps.

David attended college at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, and received his Journalism Degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he was honored as the outstanding graduate.

D'Aquin's broadcasting career started in radio more than a decade ago, when David was still in High School. Throughout the years, he's worked in just about every radio format. In 2001, David made the leap to television, where he reported and anchored weather-casts at KATC in Lafayette, and he's been going strong ever since.

David has covered just about every major story in Louisiana over the past ten years, including hurricanes, presidential visits, National Guard deployments, the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster, and the south Louisiana highway serial killer.

David is excited to bring his knowledge and experience to NBC 33; David spends his free time volunteering with several non-profit organizations. He also enjoys reading, spending time with his family and friends, and being outside with his two cocker spaniels, Buddy and Radar.
